Mise ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Account Information. When you use Mise, we create an anonymous account using a device identifier. We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number unless you contact our support team directly.
Cooking Preferences. Information you provide during onboarding and through use of the app, including dietary preferences, cooking style, spice level, household size, and food avoidances. This data is stored locally on your device and synced to our servers to personalize your experience.
Conversation Data. The text of your conversations with Mise is sent to our servers to generate recipe suggestions and cooking guidance. We do not store conversation transcripts beyond the active session. Conversations are processed by OpenAI's API under their data processing terms.
Voice Data. When you use the microphone, your speech is processed on-device using Apple's Speech Recognition framework. Raw audio is never sent to our servers. Only the transcribed text is transmitted for recipe generation.
Recipe Data. Recipes you cook are saved locally on your device and optionally synced to our servers for backup. This includes recipe titles, ingredients, steps, ratings, and personal notes.
Usage Data. We track basic usage metrics including the number of cooking sessions per week for subscription management. We do not track individual screens viewed, tap patterns, or behavioral analytics.

Your cooking preferences and recipe data are stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage mechanisms. Server-side data is stored in Supabase's encrypted PostgreSQL databases with Row Level Security, ensuring only you can access your data.
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data transmission and JWT-based authentication for API access.
Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. Conversation data is ephemeral and not stored after the session ends. Usage logs are retained for subscription management and automatically cleaned up after 90 days.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below.
Mise is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
